How Test Power Window Switch

Power Window is created in order to avoid the hand to open the window while driving. But what if power window suddenly got problems? How to test power window switch? Okey, we simply review the following problems.

Usually the damage to this power window happens when getting accident. The window can not close properly and did not want to ride on track. Another problems is the window lean and had to be carried up by using the hand manually, so it can fit into its groove.

If those problems allowed, the window on the rod pathway in the regulator can wear out. Because of the support material of glass rails made of a type of plastic. Gradually it can make the connecting cable to regulator also jammed up or even disconnected. It means, the glass/window can not be closed and reopened.

If signs of power window started to perform as above, you need to prepare the glass regulator. The process of replacement is a little bit hassle. Once the glass regulator replaced, it should lubricated with grease on the glass holder in the pole regulator. So it is not easy to worn out or getting minimal friction.

How Power Window Switch Works

Theoretically, way of working Power Window motor or Central Lock Actuator motor is to supply voltage to lower the window / lock the door, while to raise the window / unlocked the door is by turning the voltage poles.

In other words, the two cables coming from Power Window motor or Central Lock Actuator (Usually indicated with green or blue), is used by flipping the polar voltage entry.

You can find practical switches (as in image above) easily in accessories stores or partshop. The power window switch consist of 5 feet and provided with terminal bock in order to separate it easily.

For this purpose, it should also provide female termnal for 5 unit and crimpler for mounting the terminal.
